Two medals for Poland on UNICA in Tunisia!
70th World Independent Film Festival was over on the 6th of June. Polish films were awarded with two prizes.
This important film event this time took place in Hammamet, Tunisia. Festival lasted 9 days and almost 150 works were presented from around 30 countries from the whole world.
International Jury, consisting of 7 persons, admitted harmoniously that the level of the films was high. Every country through the National Film Federation, submitted 3 or 4 productions. The audience - almost five hundred people - had a chance to see features, animations and documentaries.
Federation of Independent Filmmakers submitted three films. Two of them were awarded. The Golden Medal received Karolina Bielawska for the film "The end of the summer". and the Brown Medal received Filip Rudnicki for the film "Jealousy".
European Film Forum REJI 2008
On the occasion of European Year of Intercultural Dialogue Kyrnea International with the international partners organise European Film Forum REJI . Over 150 young people (aged 16-21) from 15 European countries will take part. The condition of participation is to submit a film up to 10 min, with English subtitles, in miniDV format, realised after 2003, concerning the topic of cultural diversity. In the case of the film being qualified the authors (max. 4 people) will be invited to REJI 2008. The cost of the participation will be provided by organisers.

5th edition of OFF/ON Warszawa European Film Week

OFF/ON Warszawa European Film Week is already 5 years old. The initiative that takes place every year in Warsaw in the summer is designed for people who like to spend their time in unusual way. OFF/ON European Film Week aims at bringing European Cinema closer to the audience and to present the best of shorts from whole Europe. The competition of short films will end with GRAND PRIX OFF/ON for best European short film and 5 honorable prizes for the best film of the day. Each day will be devoted to certain region of Europe. OFF/ON aims at getting people acquainted with European Cinema and create them opportunity to discover more about filmmaking. Off/ON is designed for people who want to create image of Europe through film.

Simultaneously it is the oldest film festival that promotes young off cinema in the world. Every year over a hundred films take part in IFF. Movies are send from Poland as well as from foreign countries.
